School Age Learn to Swim

Our School-Age Program elevates swimming skills through four levels, which include stroke development.
These sessions, held after school, early in the mornings, and on Saturdays, focus on building strength, technique, and endurance. Participants will prepare for longer distances and learn all four strokes.
LEVEL 4
PLATYPUS
(max 4 students)
Starting to fly!
Platypus is all about progress! Swimmers develop their breathing coordination, kick drive, and the ability to swim 10-12 metres with correct freestyle breathing. They’ll also refine their backstroke arms, introduced to butterfly wiggles, basic breaststroke development and dive skills. Our teachers work to set the foundation for the big pool adventures!
LEVEL 5
BARRAMUNDI
(max 5 students)
Here I go!
Barramundi swimmers focus on further developing their freestyle timing and coordination and backstroke techniques while learning breaststroke and butterfly movements. Endurance becomes a focus here working on repetitious distances of 12-15m. With kids at this level beginning to swim greater distances our teachers find it essential to maintain a connection to technique. It’s an exciting stage of their swimming journey!
LEVEL 6
BARRACUDA
(max 8 students)
Off and racing!
Barracudas are becoming strong, confident swimmers, covering 15-25 metres across all four strokes. They’ll fine-tune their freestyle and backstroke and work on the full breaststroke and butterfly techniques. Along with race craft essentials like tumble turns and dives, our teachers push to start preparing for competitive swimming. Safety remains a priority as they push their skills to new heights at this final school-age level.
